BTEC Open Day: Tuesday 6th December

Blackpool FC Community Trust will be running a BTEC Open Day on Tuesday 6th December, to potential students and their parents at our education centre at Blackpool Football Club’s stadium – Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool FC Community Trust offers education programmes for students to become more employable through BTEC Level 3 and Foundation Degree courses.

In 2015/16, Blackpool FC Community Trust had 48 students enrolled to our courses. The 48 students completed the year with 100% Achievement on BTEC, with 94% reaching their targeted grades.

The BTEC Level 3 offers two different pathways for students – BTEC Level 3 in Football Studies and BTEC Level 3 in Coaching, Fitness and Development.

Senior Education Officer Mark Whalley, believes the BTEC courses available at Blackpool FC Community Trust provide a fantastic route for students who want to have a career in sports.

Mark said, “BTEC Level 3 in Football Studies opens the door to a coaching career in football, Futsal or a career in refereeing. Students have the opportunity to train for up to 4 hours a week with Blackpool FC coaches, under the direction of the English Football League Trust.  Training will be supplemented with fortnightly regular fixtures against other teams, representing professional clubs, in the English Football League Trust Futsal League.”

BTEC Level 3 in Coaching allows students to enrol on a BTEC education programme that includes a first-class experience of coaching in the sports industry whilst gaining a range of coaching qualifications.
