Northwest Football Awards 2021

Blackpool FC Community Trust are extremely proud to announce they were named ‘Community Club of the Season’ at Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards last night.

We were up against tough opposition, the finalists amongst Blackpool FC Community Trust were Community Teams from Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic.

Blackpool FC’s Manager, Neil Critchley, added to the success of the evening and was awarded ‘Manager of the Season’ after finishing his first full year at the club. Critchley was up against the likes of Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Bolton Wanderers, Ian Evatt.

The black-tie event was hosted by BBC and Strictly’s, Dan Walker, at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, it saw more than 650 guests from Football Clubs from across the Northwest come together to celebrate the region’s best and brightest on and off the pitch in the 2020/21 season.

In recent years the Trust has seen significant development and has become an established organisation, providing something for everybody, that every Blackpool FC fan and resident should be involved in and very proud of.

This award commends The Trust for the huge impact had throughout the pandemic and the work that continues every day and provides support to those in our community.

“I am so proud of the impact that we have consistently provided to our community and none of it would have been possible without the hard work and commitment of our remarkable staff. With the support of Blackpool Football Club, we have been able to achieve great results regardless of the effects of the pandemic. Many of the areas we have developed will continue to be implemented in the future as it allows us to engage with and help more people in the most deprived town in England.”
