BBC Children in Need
Ever wondered if BBC Children in Need help your local community? Well they do!
Thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need, Blackpool FC Community Trust are able to run the following activities and reach more families across Blackpool.
The Toddler Group, which takes place at Highfield Methodist Church on a Monday, helps develop fine and gross motor skills in 0 – 4 year olds. It also helps to prepare pre- schoolers for school as well as providing a fun and friendly environment for them and their families to come along to. Activities delivered at this session are thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need.
Amy Robinson, one of the parents who attends, said:
“I think The Community Trust are doing a great job. There are lots of different toys for a range of ages and all are safe. The table activities are fab and fruit, drinks and toast is a lovely touch for the kids to sit down together. Thank you!”
The Community Trust are also able to deliver FREE after school clubs across Blackpool for 5 – 7 year olds, engaging them in physical activity and discussions about healthy lifestyles.
Rosie Newton, Health & Education Manager, said:
“It’s great that we are able to deliver these activities which are available to children across Blackpool and that is thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need”.
Blackpool FC Community Trust are also able to run FREE after school clubs at SEN schools across Blackpool. Ensuring everyone in our community has the opportunity to access physical activity sessions.
Dave Maclean, Community Engagement Manager, said:
“Being able to offer this inclusive provision is very rewarding. The Children in Need Funding allows us to increase participants physical activity levels each week, with specific sessions that develop their motor skills as they try new activities and sports. We are excited to see this new provision develop and impact young people who otherwise may not be able to access such activity.”
