Blackpool FC Players Visit Sports Camps

It was great to have Blackpool FC players attend our Sports Camps last week.

On Thursday, first team players surprised children at Blackpool FC Community Trust Sports Camps.  Ryan Hardie and Nathan Shaw visited Unity Camp with Callum McDonald and Callum Guy attending Hawes Side Camp.  The players joined in with football, dodgeball and FIFA before taking part in a Q&A session. They then awarded the Star of the Day prizes.

Blackpool FC Community Trust run Sports Camps across Blackpool for children aged 5-14. The Community Trust deliver multi-sport activities such as football, handball, netball, dodgeball, arts and crafts, quick cricket, rounders and basketball.

One parent said:

“Our child absolutely loves Sports Camp!  She is 11 years old and always has a fun day.  She said there are lots of choices of activities and always something she wants to do.  We know she can be a challenging little girl but know all the staff work hard to keep her behaving and always treat her fairly.  She is so excited to come back to Sports Camp each half term!  The value for money is absolutely fantastic.  It makes working in the half term possible.”

Blackpool FC Community Trust Sports Camp Coordinator, Marc Joseph said,Having the players come along to see the children always fills the camps with excitement. We deliver the camps from 8am until 5pm during school holidays and try to fill the days with as many different activities as possible, so getting the first team to come along and get involved always adds something a bit different and special.”

On Friday a Halloween Party took place at our Inclusion Camp to conclude a busy week of sports and activities.

Eleanor Ward, who helps deliver the Inclusion Camp said, “The Halloween party was a great success with lots of children getting dressed up and joining in the Halloween activities.  It is great that we are able to offer this respite care to local parents and carers.”
