Coaching/Volunteers Week

This week celebrates Coaching Week and Volunteers Week.  Here at Blackpool FC Community Trust we have a variety of opportunities for you to get involved in to help and support your local community.  From working in schools, holiday clubs and adult provision, to encouraging and supporting people to get involved with other volunteering opportunities such as maintaining the arboretum.

Looking for an opportunity to enhance your coaching skills?  Alongside our BTEC Education provision, you can get involved with the Sports Coaching Academy.  This involves: coaching workshops ran by our qualified and experienced coaching mentors to help you learn and improve skills required to be an elite sports coach.  You will also have the opportunity to gain up to FIVE FREE coaching qualifications across the two academic years with regular work placements within local schools and community settings to enhance employability skills.  There is also theopportunity for international coaching placements.

Chelsie, who started with us as part of the Traineeship programme, said, “After the Traineeship, the Community Trust continued to help and support my development by offering me voluntary work with Fit2Go, mainstream sports camp and I now support many sessions with the inclusion team.  This has equipped me with the skills required to be a successful coach and I am now hoping to put these skills and knowledge into practice by enrolling on the Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development course from September 2019.”

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our coaches and volunteers who continue to help us support our community.
