As we enter April, Blackpool FC Community Trust continues its commitment to supporting our community through various initiatives, activities, and opportunities. From cost-of-living support and fitness programmes to football development and holiday camps, there’s something for everyone to get involved in.

Here’s what’s happening this month and how you can be part of it.

Cost of Living Support 

The Big Food Truck will continue to visit us every Tuesday, and our Community Club will meet from 1:30pm to 3pm.

Active Minds continues this month. Join us at one of the following sessions:

  • Monday Men’s Football Session – Stanley Park 4G Astroturf – 7pm-8pm
  • Monday Women’s Football Session – Aspire Sports Hub – 6pm-7pm
  • Tuesday Men’s Football Session – Aspire Sports Hub – 8pm-9pm
  • Tuesday Women’s Football Session – Aspire Sports Hub – 7pm-8pm
  • Thursday Men’s Football session – Palatine Leisure Centre – 8pm-9pm

Move More is still looking for people living within Bloomfield, Tyldesley, Victoria and Park wards who are interested in developing a community group to support their local community needs, get in touch: movemore@bfcct.co.uk

The Get FIT with BFCCT timetable of fitness classes and £20 a month rolling membership are now live! Classes include Circuits, BoxFIT, ClubFIT, Pilates and Strength & Stretch. We would love to see new and old faces at the sessions.

Our Armed Forces provision will continue as normal this month. Join us at NAAFI Break on Wednesdays from 10:30am-12pm, Walk & Talk on Thursdays from 1:30pm-3:30pm and Forces football from 6pm-8:30pm on a Friday evening.

Gardening club will take place on Thursdays at the Fylde Arboretum from 10am-12pm.

You can also join us at our monthly session, Veterans Breakfast Club, on Tuesday 1st April from 10am-11am.

Blackpool FC Sports College open evening on Thursday April 3rd 5pm – 7pm.

Premier League Inspires Celebration Event

 Our Premier League Inspires winners will head to Wembley Stadium at the end of the month, to showcase their Social Action Project, which they have been undertaking since winning the Premier League Inspires Challenge in February. We look forward to updating you in the coming weeks.

Beaverbrooks Enterprise Programme 

After the Easter Holidays, we begin our Beaverbrooks Enterprise programme, supported by Northwest Young People Development Trust. Our Enterprise programme is designed to raise the aspirations of young people and create a positive focus on the amazing career opportunities available in Blackpool! The programme aims to enhance skills, including resilience, confidence, financial capability, and initiative. The programme is delivered to Year 8 pupils in all eight of Blackpool’s High Schools and some ‘Alternative Education’ provisions too.

Female Football

The Emerging Talent Centre have several fixtures this month, playing against Wigan Athletic Ladies and Girls Under 10s, Bolton District Under 11s, Rainford Under 13s, Blackpool and Fylde District Under 14s, along with Carlisle ETC and Westmorland ETC at futsal.

Some of our pre-ETC Under 9s will step into the Under 10s ETC group as we plan for next season.

Join us at our very popular Girls Football Camps during the Easter Half Term for girls aged 7-14, from the 7th-17th April at Aspire Sports Hub, covering a variety of topics and sessions.

Block three of our Elite Coaching Pathway sessions will continue, for high-ability girls invited into the programme. Sessions cover ball mastery, possession, 1v1s, attack v defence, and match conditions.

PE Teacher: Rated Good by Ofsted in 2024, BFC School is an alternative education setting to support learners who are at risk of permanent exclusion or who need support that cannot be provided in a mainstream setting, this includes behavioural issues, mental health and well-being concerns. The post holder will deliver a range of vocational qualifications, including practical Sports. They will play a powerful and influential role in many young people’s lives, promoting core values and embedding key skills to take with them through life.

ETC Casual Strength and Conditioning Coach: To support our players on their development pathway, with a focus on physical development. You will ensure ETC players experience a physical performance programme that supports the club blueprint and delivers high-quality athletes who are balanced, autonomous and adaptable. This role will focus on developing a programme to aid injury prevention.
