February is now over and we are welcoming Spring into our lives as we enter the month of March. We have a jam-packed month ahead of us. Check out what we have planned below…
Food Parcel Collections – Working in partnership with Blackpool Food Bank, every Tuesday from 2 pm to 3 pm, we provide emergency food parcels and other essential items to the vulnerable community of Blackpool. We aim to tackle short-term food poverty and relieve the pressure of putting food on the table. Situated in the North Stand Community Hub, anyone can access this service. Single bags are £3 and family bags are £5.
If you are interested in picking up a food parcel, please get in touch with us via social media and we will let the team know.
Winter Warm-Up Hubs – This month will be the last month we are delivering our Winter Warm-Up Family and Pool Together Hubs. Our Warm-Up Hubs provide families and those socially isolated and vulnerable with a place to keep warm, socialise and have access to free hot drinks and food. Our Pool Together Hubs, run every Tuesday and Thursday from 12 pm – 3 pm and includes teas, coffees, biscuits and activities and our Family Hub runs Monday – Friday from 3 pm – 6 pm which includes a free meal and lots of fun activities and games to enjoy.
Both of these hubs are free to attend.
Thank you to Blackpool Council and Simon Sadler’s Segantii Capital Management for the financial support.
Unite for Access (4th March) – The Level Playing Field Unite For Access campaign is an annual period of inspiration and celebration of good access and inclusion at sports venues. On the 4th of March, Blackpool FC players will be wearing Unite for Access T-Shirts in their warm-up against Burnley. As well as this, Blackpool FC has invited 40 pupils from two different SEND schools across Blackpool along with parents, guardians and teachers to watch the match. We regularly work with these schools and pupils through our disability programmes funded by BBC Children in Need.

Female Football Programme – We are delighted to extend our female football offering by introducing our Future Lioness Development Centres for ages u8-10, u11-12 and u13-14. These will launch on Monday 13th March and will run every week at Aspire Sports Hub, Garstang Road W, FY3 7JH. Sessions will aim to improve every participant by offering high-quality structured coaching sessions delivered by FA/UEFA qualified coaches offering individual technical work, small-sided games, and following a professional curriculum. Players can attend regardless of what team they currently play for and cost just £4 each week.
Emerging Talent Centre – We have a busy month coming up for the Emerging Talent Centre. We will be taking all of our age groups to play Burnley ETC on 16th March. In addition to this, we have England Lioness u16s coach and FA Talent Technical Coach for the North West Amanda Goodwin visiting our ETC to cast her eye over our programme and to meet our staff and players. We have also nominated several players within the ETC for the Discover My Talent programme, which aims to highlight the most talented players in the country who may show potential to be a part of the England Lioness pathway.
