Coming Up in September 2024

As we head into September, take a look at the activities that are continuing throughout the month.

Cost of Living Support

Our Family Clubs will continue at the North Stand Community Hub from 3:30pm to 5:30pm with different activities taking place the week. On Tuesdays, we will be delivering physical activity sessions, and on Wednesdays, you can access our Homework Club and enjoy arts and crafts.

The Big Food Truck will also operate every Tuesday as usual, along with our new Community Club from 1:15pm to 3pm. Additionally, our Breakfast Club will run every Friday, with special physical activity planned for the 13th and 27th with one of our sports coaches.

Move More

Central Mosque Blackpool (CMB) United has joined the Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Alliance. This football team, supported by the Move More initiative, is experiencing its first season of 11-a-side football—a significant milestone for the team.

Active Minds

This month we are launching a brand new Active Minds Men & Women’s Football Sessions at Unity Academy from 7pm to 8pm. Men’s sessions are also held on Mondays at Stanley Park from 7pm to 8pm and on Tuesdays at Aspire Sports Hub from 8pm to 9pm. Women’s sessions are scheduled for Mondays at Aspire Sports Hub from 6pm to 7pm and Tuesdays at the same venue from 7pm to 8pm.

Premier League Kicks

The Premier League Kicks programme will resume on Thursday, September 3rd.

Get Vocal

Our Get Vocal – The Podcast will return in September with new guest speakers who will share their personal experiences related to mental health. Keep an eye out for the latest episode!

Armed Forces

Armed Forces support will continue as usual throughout September. The Veterans Breakfast Club will meet every first Tuesday of the month from 9:30am to 10:45am @TheGrange on Bathurst Avenue, with free entry. Forces Football will take place every Thursday from 6pm to 7:30pm at Aspire Sports Hub, also free of charge. The Gardening Club will meet on the first Tuesday of each month from April to November, from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Fylde Memorial Arboretum. The NAAFI Break, a social gathering, will occur every Wednesday from 10:30am to 12pm at The Corner Flag on Bloomfield Road, with a £2 charge per preordered breakfast sandwich. Veterans Walk & Talk will be held every Thursday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at Blackpool Cricket Club, with free entry.

Female Football

The Future Lioness Development Centres will begin on September 9th, offering training sessions for various age groups on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, we will launch a new Elite Coaching Pathway for high-ability girls, with sessions scheduled throughout the week at different venues. The Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) will also launch in late September for girls aged 9 to 16, with player and staff inductions planned for mid-September.

Blackpool FC Sports College

The induction week for Blackpool FC Sports College begins on Tuesday 3rd September, featuring team-building activities, icebreakers, and a stadium tour, with students receiving their kits. On Wednesday 4th September, there will be an in-house game at Stanley Park, with Coaching Academy students involved in match reports, analysis, and coaching sessions. On Thursday 5th September, the Army will lead problem-solving and team-building activities throughout the day.

Blackpool FC Sports College Enrichment

Sports coaching workshops will commence on 9th September, and take place every Monday and Tuesday evening from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. These workshops include both classroom-based sessions as well as practical coaching sessions. Football training will also be held on Monday and Tuesday evening at Stanley Park.

Blackpool FC Sports College Upcoming Fixtures

The Football Academy students will have their first game of the season on Wednesday 11th September. Additional fixtures are scheduled for Wednesday 18th September, and Wednesday 25th September, for both the A & B Teams.

19th September – Visit to Vinci building and Muse site in Blackpool to discuss careers and apprenticeships in construction/ Females in construction. Site visit and tour with Q and A session.
24th September – Careers Seminar- PSHE Career planning – Stable career programme
