How old were you when you first started playing football and what inspired you?
I was seven, all the boys in my class used to play at lunch time, so I joined in.
What do you study at university?
Physical Education and School Sport.
How do you balance playing football and university/work?
I complete my university work on the days that I don’t have any training/games.
In your experience do you feel women’s football has progressed?
With the introduction of the WSL and the large crowds that watched the London Olympics I would say it has done a little.
What would you like to see in the future of women’s football?
More coverage in newspapers and on television.
Your football career highlight so far?
Scoring in a 2-1 win against Morecombe which secured promotion to the North West Prem.
Highlight so far of this season?
My hatrick against Birkenhead
What footballer do you look up to most?
Kelly Smith, as in the women’s game she has achieved a lot.
Do you have any superstitions or pre-match rituals before a match?
Not really, other than putting my shin guards on a certain way.
What do you usually eat before a match/training session?
Usually Pasta with chicken.
What part of playing football do you enjoy the most?
Being able to play with some really talented players.
What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to a girl who wants to get involved in football?
Just to practice the basics and believe in your own ability.
What other hobbies/interests do you have apart from playing football?
My other hobbies are playing other sports, such as Basketball.
What hopes do you have for the future?
Eventually become a qualified PE teacher.
