Blackpool FC Community Trust is the official charity of Blackpool FC, based at Bloomfield Road Stadium. Working with residents as young as 2 years old up to adults in the later stages of life, BFCCT provide a diverse range of programmes to increase social inclusion opportunities; improve physical fitness, health and education; and lessen involvement in anti-social behaviour.
In recent years the Trust has grown significantly and has become an established organisation, providing something for everybody, that every Blackpool FC fan and resident should be involved in and very proud of.
Blackpool FC Community Trust has a very exciting opportunity for someone to join the very successful Health and Wellbeing team, working on our healthy lifestyle programmes and mental health provisions with a focus on reducing anti-social behaviour and increasing awareness to the harm it causes the community. Delivered in local primary schools and nurseries and supporting families in the community. The post holder will also support with delivery on our multi-sports camps.
Blackpool FC Community Trust, based at Bloomfield Road Stadium, have delivered the Fit2Go project in local primary schools for more than ten years, in partnership with Public Health Blackpool and Blackpool NHS Clinical Commissioning Group. The project focuses on making year 4 pupils aware of the importance of eating well, taking part in regular exercise and the effect it has our lifestyle.
Unstoppable is our year 6 PSHE programme, using the novel of the same name written by Dan Freedman. It aims to equip young people with decision making skills around ASB, relationships, gang culture, knife crime, friendships, emotional wellbeing and transition.
The successful post holder will be part of the Health and Wellbeing delivery team, taking classroom-based sessions, which are followed up with a physical activity session, focused around the school PE curriculum. The successful candidate will help delivery educational interventions that span PSHE, with a focus on Maths and English. The post holder will also deliver community-based family programmes, with the same intentions, but focused on the whole household and the adjustments that can be made to the full families’ health and well-being.
The post holder will also be required to deliver on our multi-sports camps during school holidays, helping children to engage in games and physical activity.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, whilst having a good understanding and experience of delivering healthy lifestyle provision. This individual will also have the relevant experience and qualifications to deliver physical activity and PE sessions within local primary schools and the wider community.
