PL Inspires is a 20 hour programme delivered in local secondary schools focusing on helping young people to become more resilient individuals and reducing stress & anxiety by developing coping strategies and relaxation techniques, with the aim of giving young people the skill set to cope with the pressure of exams.
This week we completed our Club Heat of PL Inspires Challenge 2021.
Teams from the schools developed social action ideas and created a video presentation. Blackpool FC Head Coach, Neil Critchley, Club Captain Chris Maxwell and BFC Scholars have now viewed the entries. Chris Maxwell had this to say, “After reviewing the videos, every single one was top notch, they were excellent causes, very important topics and need addressing. However, the one I have chosen is male suicide, I think it’s something that is neglected a lot in today’s society with men not speaking out when there is a problem and realising that there is a place for it”.
Congratulations to team Raising ASPIRE-ations from Aspire Academy who will be focusing their social action on Male Suicide.
The team will now go on to deliver their social action and represent Blackpool at the final event later in the year.
Well done to all the students who were involved.
