Premier League Kicks - Blackpool Vs Newcastle

Blackpool FC Community Trust were pleased to be able to return the favour to Newcastle Kicks when they visited Blackpool for a rematch between the two clubs. Last November Newcastle hosted Blackpool for a Premier League Kicks match followed by a trip to St James Park to watch the Newcastle v Swansea game. The return trip to Blackpool gave the Newcastle players and staff opportunity to attend the Blackpool v Blackburn Lancashire derby following the Premier League Kicks match in the morning between the two teams.

The Kicks match took place at Bispham College thanks to the assistance of Blackpool and Fylde College who provided their artificial pitch free of charge. Once the match began Newcastle showed their credentials as twice winners of the National Kicks Cup and dominated the early stages. By half time Blackpool were hanging on and went into the break 2-0 down. In the second half Newcastle further asserted their domination of the game, the 6-0 final score being an accurate reflection of the Geordies’ domination. As is the case at all the Premier League Kicks sessions, the result is secondary to the players’ enjoyment, behaviour and sportsmanship and both teams displayed excellent behaviour and superb attitudes towards one another.
