Over 50s Football at Blackpool FC Community Trust
Walking Football is a revolutionary sport designed for anyone over the age of 50, as a minimal contact sport the game focuses on improving health and well-being as well as the additional social benefits of making new friends.
The adapted version of the game involves no running or slide tackling just gentle exercise which aims to reduce the risk of health problems and improve mobility.
Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Dave Maclean: “Walking football has so many benefits, not only will it boost people’s health and fitness, but it will also give everyone who takes part the chance to socialise with other players. The social aspects of the game is often one of the main factors that helps to engage people back into sport”.
