On Saturday 5th March, Blackpool FC Community Trust, Active Blackpool, and other local community organisations, are teaming up to host a Sport and Community Recruitment Fair at Bloomfield Road Stadium. The event will take place in the Education and Community Centre at Bloomfield Road Stadium from 11am until 2pm, is free to attend, and will be a great opportunity for people to learn more about working in the sports and community industry.
This event will offer the attendees a chance to discuss half-term and summer holiday jobs, evening work, full-time opportunities and volunteering.
Bloomfield Road is the home of Blackpool Football Club and the Community Trust, who deliver a range of education and community activities. Staff from all areas of work will be on hand throughout the event to talk answer any questions regarding roles, upcoming vacancies and further education opportunities.
Former Blackpool FC player, Marc Joseph, who is now Head of Early Years and Primary at Blackpool FC Community Trust, explains: “Blackpool FC Community Trust is growing as an organisation, and as a result, requires more staff to support the delivery of activities in the community. For people who want a career in sport, or to work within the community, this is a great opportunity for eager and enthusiastic coaches to work alongside full-time staff, to gain experience and create their own career pathways.”
This event is not just for budding sports coaches or football fans, many of the community partners in attendance will also be looking for people who want to support activities in the community, regardless of whether they have an interest or qualifications in sports delivery.
Jason White, Head of Community Programmes adds, “Within the Trust, we deliver a range of activities and support for people of all ages and abilities. This includes a variety of different activities, many of which do not involve physical activity. One of the key consistencies though is that all of the staff care passionately about the town, club, and what we do. If that sounds like you, we’d love to see you at the event.”
Dave Rohman, Active Lives Development Manager with Active Blackpool, added “This is a great opportunity to showcase the range of employment and volunteering roles available to people within Blackpool across all partners involved. At Active Blackpool, we are proud of our staff and are always looking to expand our workforce to be able to increase our delivery levels across the range of programmes and services we offer to our local communities.”
The event will be taking place at the Education & Community Centre, which is situated in the North West Stand, opposite the Stanley Mortensen statue. Entry to the event is free and we hope to see as many people there as possible.
