Success of the Traineeship Course

December saw the end of our first Traineeship course of the academic year.  The course began with 24 participants and finished with a total 16.  A number of the participants left the course to due to obtaining employment whilst being enrolled.  For example, one started as a trainee mechanic at Peugeot, another as a kitchen assistant in a hotel and the third working in a hotel behind the bar.

The remaining 16 took part in a series of interviews with the Pleasure Beach.  Eight of them have since been asked to go back to their recruitment open day in January.   This is a great success and shows how the course opens up many opportunities for the participants to take advantage of whilst on the course.

Whilst on the course, we support you as much as we can. For example, Jasmine has ambition to complete a degree in Media.  In order for her to gain some experience in this field, Jasmine worked along side some of our team members to produce a poster to promote our future Traineeship courses as well as creating videos using video software as well as capturing pictures.

The group also gained their first aid at work qualification with a number also passing their Maths and English Functional skills.

Our trainees have gained lots of life and work experiences at Ascent, Toyland, Skills Construction, Blackpool Zoo, The Carlton Best Western Hotel and Blackpool Reptile Room to name a few.

The next Traineeship course begins on Monday 4th Feb 2019.  Interested?  Contact Rick Bryan on 01253 348 691 or send an email to rick.bryan@bfcct.co.uk or colin.king@bfcct.co.uk for more information.
