Blackpool FC Community Trust are excited to welcome our newest member of the community team.
Tony Codling is our community engagement officer for the Armed Forces area of work. He previously served 12 years in the army as a Physical Training Instructor and served in several tours of duty around the world, after leaving the forces he became a secondary school PE Teacher.
He is looking forward to working as part of a team that helps veterans throughout the Fylde Coast, supporting them with health and well-being, mental health, and engagement within the community, especially those that feel isolated or are suffering with PTSD.
Tony recently did a welfare call to a local veteran who he served with, sadly he had passed away alone, he assisted with trying to locate his next of kin, but this was fruitless, so Tony organised a fundraiser online to raise funds for the veteran’s funeral and helped with these arrangements. >> Read more <<
With support from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and the Veterans’ Foundation, Tony is dedicated to coordinating different activities to help loneliness with our veterans.
